Srinivas Fine Arts Private Limited, a printing and book technology house, has announced the installation of a Scodix B1 Smart High Definition (SHD) Press, a first-of-its-kind in India, from Insight Print Communications. This strategic investment is set to enhance the company’s embellishment capabilities and strengthen its position in the global print industry.

Founded in 1964 by R Chockalingam, SFAPL has grown from humble beginnings into a powerhouse of excellence and innovation. With over five decades of experience, the company remains a symbol of premium quality in the printing and book production industry. Under the leadership of Rajesh and Sreesh, the second and third generation of the Chockalingam family respectively, SFAPL continues to embrace new technology.

With an employee strength of over 200, SFAPL has earned an array of awards and citations. It has a brand called Vedic Cosmos dedicated to preserving and promoting Vedic wisdom and traditions. It offers a range of masterpiece editions of priceless scriptures, seamlessly blending artistry and spirituality.

“We are excited to support India’s leading converter with the addition of our flagship Scodix Ultra 6500 SHD digital enhancement press. We view India as a key growth market for embellishments, driven by the ongoing expansion of packaging and the appeal of elaborated designs,” said Sławomir Iwanowski, global channel director, Scodix.

The addition of the Scodix B1 Press, featuring 16 advanced applications that were showcased at drupa 2024, marks a step in SFAPL’s journey toward sustainable and innovative printing solutions. Designed for economic, productive, and eco-friendly embellishments, the Scodix SHD Press is a game-changer for the Indian market, setting new benchmarks in precision, quality, and registration in embellishment.

“We are thrilled to be the first in India to install the Scodix Ultra 6500 SHD Press, which aligns with our vision of bringing unmatched quality and excellence to the market,” said Rajesh, director of SFAPL. “This press will enable us to offer a whole new level of creative possibilities, making our embellishment capabilities truly world-class.”

He says, “We were drawn to the Scodix Ultra 6500 press due to its versatility in offering a wide range of solutions across various raw material types, benefiting each of our divisions.”

Scodix provides a range of 16 advanced applications that operate flawlessly on a single Scodix digital enhancement press. It has features such as Scodix MLE, Scodix Sense, Scodix Foil, and Smart High Definition (SHD).

Scodix boasts a variety of sustainability certifications, including a repulpability certificate and notable results from life cycle assessments (LCA). These credentials demonstrate that Scodix technology can cut CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent) emissions by up to 85%.

The Scodix SHD offers a high-resolution output of up to 2,540 x 450 DPI, featuring Scodix RSP Technology with a 4-CCD camera system and an RSP (Rotate, Scale, Position) algorithm for precise automatic positioning with ±100-micron registration. Its automatic registration calibration is fully wide-format and requires no operator intervention.

“We are excited to see Srinivas Fine Arts, a prestigious name in the publishing sector, become the first in India to install the Scodix Ultra 6500 press. This powerful technology in the hands of such a visionary team is sure to create extraordinary results.
