Sonal Xerox, one of Ahmedabad‘s leading digital print service providers, has commissioned Gujarat’s first Canon imagePRESS V1000 digital production press at its Ashram Road branch.
Established in 1985, Sonal Xerox has an extensive presence across Ahmedabad with 10 branches, offering a wide array of printing and finishing services. The company is known for producing high-quality brochures, flyers, posters, boxes, and other marketing materials for both corporate and individual clients.
The decision to invest in the Canon imagePRESS V1000 was made after extensive research on the latest digital production technologies. According to Mukesh Surani, proprietor of Sonal Xerox, they choose the V1000 due to its advanced features and ability to handle the rising demand for print services.
“To manage the increasing print volumes efficiently, we were looking for a digital production press that would not only offer speed but ensure high-quality output on a variety of media types. After evaluating several options, we concluded that the Canon imagePRESS V1000 was the best choice. One of its standout features is its ability to print on 400 GSM paper at the same speed as lighter media, which significantly improves our production efficiency,” said Surani.
Surani highlighted the V1000’s ability to print larger-sized impressions, which has proven to be a cost-effective feature for many of its projects. “The machine allows us to print impressions as large as 13X47 inches. This is especially useful when printing three- or four-fold brochures, as it reduces the need for additional processes like stapling,” he added.
The Canon imagePRESS V1000 is a highly versatile press that supports a broad range of media, including traditional paper, cardstock, and even vinyl. Its advanced technology ensures consistent front-back printing, which Surani noted was another key reason for choosing this press.
In 2023, Canon India launched the imagePRESS series, including the V1000 and V900 models, aimed at addressing the growing demand for high-performance digital presses. The V1000 model is equipped with the imagePRESS Server D3000, powered by Fiery FS500 Pro system software, which enhances prepress functionalities and improves workflow efficiency, making it a valuable addition to Sonal Xerox’s printing operations.
Print volumes on V1000 to increase
Although the Canon imagePRESS V1000 was commissioned only a month ago, Surani expects print volumes at the Ashram Road branch to increase significantly in the coming weeks.
“At the moment, we are handling around 1,000 impressions per day, but as more clients become aware of the new press and its capabilities, we expect the demand to grow rapidly. Gujarat, and especially Ahmedabad, has a strong demand for digital print, particularly from corporate clients and manufacturing units in the region. I see a great future for the digital printing segment. I was at drupa this year and it was all about digital technology,” Surani concludes.
