A laser show and a centenary special edition marked the 100 years of Delhi-headquartered English daily Hindustan Times. Launched on September 22, 1924, the newspaper completes 100 years this year.

As part of a year-long centenary celebration, the newspaper house organize events, special publications, and community engagements. The iconic HT House on KG Marg was illuminated in all its glory as the building came alive with a visual narrative.

The special centenary edition explores defining moments in India’s history with the Hindustan Times.  The edition replete with facsimiles of old editions traced the newspaper’s journey over the years.

“In 100 years, I am the third generation of my family to be in charge of the work in progress that is Hindustan Times. I say work in progress because it is just that — just like India is a country on the move, a civilisation seeking to live up to its storied past as it strives to make its place in the world,” Shobhana Bhartia, chairperson and editorial director of HT Media and granddaughter of Ghanshyam Das Birla. writes in an article.

Praveen Someshwar, CEO of HT Media, said, “As we mark  this extraordinary centennial, we are profoundly grateful for the enduring trust of our readers and  partners. They are the lifeblood of our century-long journey, relying on Hindustan Times to deliver  not just news, but insight, context and inspiration. It is their unwavering faith that has empowered us to stand resolute as the Voice of the Nation, guiding public discourse, informing citizens, and  shaping the contours of our collective future.”
