Darjeeling-based personalized gift and commercial printing shop Tungo has stepped up its digital production printing with a Ricoh Pro C5300S. This newly installed digital color production press at Tungo has been supplied and installed by Monotech Systems.

Over the last 15 years since its inception, Tungo has been serving as a complete commercial print service provider for customers from all over Darjeeling and many other cities and towns dotted around the Himalayan foothills of West Bengal.

Most of our customers are from Darjeeling. However, some from Sikkim and other parts of the region regularly come to us because we please them with their choices of prints for diverse applications such as personalized gifts, T-shirt graphics, banners, and many digital prints,” says Pravin Gurung, proprietor of Tungo.

Gurung says the current production facility is backed by a team of half-dozen skilled printing professionals and a string of advanced machines comprising a digital large-format printer, cutting plotter, and dye-sublimation printer. “Above all is this newly arrived Ricoh Pro C5300S which we opted specifically for boosting our overall commercial digital printing to a new height. This Ricoh digital color production press from Monotech Systems is ideally a game changer in digital printing for us. Its advanced features and technical proficiency are excellent.”

The Ricoh Pro C5300S is robust enough to run at the speed of 65 ppm (pages per minute). “Our first impression of this Ricoh digital production press is its productivity and accuracy in print quality,” mentions Gurung, adding, “With this new machine, we are now more confident than ever to produce premium quality color graphic prints for end products like brochures, cards, flyers, catalogs, marketing collateral and more.”

In addition, when it comes to further counting on more advancement and capability of Ricoh Pro C5300S, this cutting-edge digital production press is compatible with a broad range of media comprising both lightweight and heavyweight stocks up to 360 gsm. “Enchanting digital printing is more enchanting than ever at Tungo with this Ricoh Pro C5300S we purchased from Monotech Systems,” says Gurung.

Gurung says the Ricoh Pro C5300S has eventually accelerated Tungo in gaining a new level of productivity and quality in prints. “We are delighted we got our right choice of digital production press with after-sales service support which the technical team of Monotech Systems would always provide us whenever we require,” he mentions.

In 2024, we are looking at full recovery and growth-led investment in Indian printing

Indian Printer and Publisher founded in 1979 is the oldest B2B trade publication in the multi-platform and multi-channel IPPGroup. It created the category of privately owned B2B print magazines in the country. And by its diversification in packaging, (Packaging South Asia), food processing and packaging (IndiFoodBev) and health and medical supply chain and packaging (HealthTekPak), and its community activities in training, research, and conferences (Ipp Services, Training and Research) the organization continues to create platforms that demonstrate the need for quality information, data, technology insights and events.

India is a large and tough terrain and while its book publishing and commercial printing industry have recovered and are increasingly embracing digital print, the Indian newspaper industry continues to recover its credibility and circulation. The signage industry is also recovering and new technologies and audiences such as digital 3D additive printing, digital textiles, and industrial printing are coming onto our pages. Diversification is a fact of life for our readers and like them, we will also have to adapt with agility to keep up with their business and technical information needs.

India is one of the fastest growing economies in nominal and real terms – in a region poised for the highest change in year to year expenditure in printing equipment and consumables. Our 2024 media kit is ready, and it is the right time to take stock – to emphasize your visibility and relevance to your customers and turn potential markets into conversations.
