Fineline Technologies, a key player in the barcode labeling and tagging industry for over 25 years, recently installed two Ricoh Pro C9200 presses for its in-house digital printing jobs. With a strong emphasis on the retail sector, the company prints labels and tags for clients in India, the US, and Europe, and is involved in RFID solutions.

We were lacking an in-house digital printing setup for our printing needs. The installation of the Ricoh marks our first foray into in-house digital printing, which has enhanced our ability to achieve timely deliveries, contributing to an overall improvement in customer satisfaction,” said Avinash Kumar, country operation manager, Fineline Technology.

Along with digital printing, the company utilizes a range of advanced printing technologies – flexo printing, thermal printing, and laser jet printing. Previously relying on outsourcing partners, Kumar said ensuring the timely delivery of projects and the need to expand the business prompted his decision to invest in the new digital press.

The Ricoh Pro C9200 has a print speed of 115 ppm, a maximum media thickness of 600µm with a maximum printable area of 326*1255mm. “The enhanced productivity and superior media flexibility offered by the Ricoh digital production printer will play a pivotal role in strengthening our business and positively impacting our profit margins,” Kumar said.

Kumar anticipates the Ricoh machine to efficiently handle small-volume jobs, particularly those involving variable data, which is crucial for printed products. “Incorporating Ricoh into our operations has streamlined our printing processes, particularly for variable data.”

Kumar praised the team of Minosha, which supplied the press, for playing a crucial role in the seamless installation of the Ricoh digital press and their guidance in color management, media flexibility, and color profiles.
