Roland DG, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters, announced the addition of newly developed Green TR2 ink for its TrueVIS VG2 series 64” and 54” wide-format inkjet printer/cutters. Kevin Shigenoya, vice president, Digital Printing Business Division, Roland DG, said the VG2 series have been updated with new features that strengthen its ‘Power to Excite’. When combined with vibrant orange ink as process colors and the ‘Multi-Process Color function’, the new Green ink provides greatly increased gamut expansion and richer visual expression. And with the True Rich Color preset, you can combine neutral grays, smooth gradations, and natural skin tones to produce breathtaking graphics with stunning realism. “Users can now reproduce corporate colors that have traditionally been considered difficult to reproduce if not impossible and create lifelike sign graphics that serve as highly effective communication tools and leave a lasting impression.”

Greenguard Gold certified TR2 ink is virtually odorless and requires no special ventilation or environmental equipment. It’s also durable, scratch-resistant, and offers low running-cost production without sacrificing color or image quality. Convenient 500 ml pouches fit neatly into reusable ink trays, sliding into a hidden bay for clean operation and less waste. In addition, the 3M MCS Warranty and Avery Dennison ICS Warranty Program offer certified coverage for graphics printed onto their materials with TR2 ink and TrueVIS VG2 printer/cutters.*

Released in March of 2019, the TrueVIS VG2-640 and 540 represent Roland DG’s flagship models of wide-format inkjet printer/cutters for producing advertising, sign, and other durable graphics. The printers were engineered by applying new technologies and attention to detail down to the finest level across every aspect—including print quality, ease-of-use, and reliability. “With the addition of Green ink,” Shigenoya said, “our printers are further enhanced by their capability of delivering beautifully printed graphics with unmatched quality as recognized not only by customers but also by key industry organizations, as well as the world’s leading independent provider of testing and analysis for the document imaging industry. We are committed to developing products that meet the creative quest of our customers by pursuing Roland DG standards of excellence.”

The TrueVIS series won seven awards in 2019, including the ‘Innovation Award’ at the 2019 ISA International Sign Expo in Las Vegas, ‘Best Print & Cut Solution’ in the EDP (European Digital Press Association) Awards, SGIA ‘Product of the Year’ Awards in the ‘Roll-to-Roll/Solvent/Latex (under 80 inches)’ and ‘Digital Inks – Eco-Solvent/Solvent/Latex’ categories, Keypoint Intelligence’s Buyers Laboratory ‘Buyers Lab 2020 Pick Awards’ in the ‘Outstanding Gamut Expansion Eco-Solvent/Latex 54″/64″ Printer category’, ‘Outstanding Enhanced CMYK Eco-Solvent/Latex 54″/64″ Printer category’, and ‘Outstanding Entry-Level CMYK Eco-Solvent/Latex 54″/64″ Printer category’.
