Heidelberg, in collaboration with Indore Master Printers Association (IMPA), hosted a one-day training workshop in Indore in June 2019 for press operators. The session was attended by more than 50 participants from print shops across Indore.

The event explained the factors influencing overall productivity and fitness of offset presses. The interactive sessions provided trouble-shooting solutions to visitors.

Manish Kumar Gupta, regional sales manager – Heidelberg India, organized the ‘Operator Forum’ as a knowledge-sharing platform, while Munish Kaushal, print application specialist of Heidelberg India, took over the technical segment.

The workshop served as a platform to educate operators on various printing methods and the dos and don’ts of offset printing processes. The training also educated operators on the correct ratio of chemicals to be used for dampening solution, torque requirements of mounting blanket, application of precise squeezing pressure and the ill-effects of excess pressure on print quality and life of equipment.

Gupta said, “The idea is to empower personnel with more techniques to maximize productivity and minimize wastage. The forum served its objectives well, by informing the visitors about the best practices to keep in mind during the production process, roller settings and the importance of roller maintenance.”

The forum was very informative. The sessions supplemented our working knowledge, while teaching us new tips and tricks to enhance productivity and make best use of resources. Our heartfelt thanks to Heidelberg and IMPA for this excellent opportunity. We return to our jobs with more knowledge and enthusiasm,” added Ravindra Verma, a press operator and participant.

Heidelberg has always been a trusted partner for the printing fraternity across the globe. We are very happy to collaborate with Heidelberg on this excellent endeavor. The event was highly effective and participants received value added knowledge. We look forward to more of such guidance, support and inspiration from Heidelberg,” stated Swadesh Sharma, president of the IMPA.

Gurmeet Singh Sethi, a press proprietor who took part in the event remarked, “Highly skilled employees are an asset to our business. Training is absolutely necessary to help them stay competent and serve customers better, while utilizing resources optimally. With this one-day workshop, Heidelberg has once again demonstrated its ability to bring world-class training to simple press rooms. We look forward to more such sessions. Thanks to IMPA as well. ”

During the event, Heidelberg also showcased Saphira Consumables including Saphira blankets and Saphira range of inks and chemicals.
