At Sign and Digital UK 2018, Roland presented a large array of their devices totaling 12 machines. This year, Roland DG has decided to focus on the newest additions to its catalog.

“In previous years, we have displayed a wide range of our bestselling devices but in 2019, we aim to focus on the cutting edge of development. On Stand F30, visitors will get the chance to see some of Roland’s latest creations,” said Rob Goleniowski, head of Sales for UK and Ireland,

The next generation of print and cut

Following the recent release of the TrueVIS VG2 series in early March, this new device will be making its UK exhibition debut at Sign and Digital. The latest stage in the evolution of their headline print-and-cut solution, the VG2 demonstrates how lots of small changes can add up to a game-changing device.

Goleniowski said, “We’ve made a lot of small upgrades throughout the device but the major difference is in the ink. The VG2 has a new configuration allowing the use of orange ink, which extends the color gamut significantly. With the addition of 3M MCS and Avery ICS certification, the new VG2 is ideal for things like vehicle wraps.”

For visitors looking to take the next step and upgrade their business, this is a great opportunity to see the machine that is leading the market for print and cut graphics.

Stunned by color

The VersaEXPRESS RF-640 8-color has been stunning onlookers with color since its first preview at Sign and Digital UK 2018. An addition to the VersaEXPRESS family, this device incorporates an additional 4 ink channels on top of the standard CMYK, featuring light black, red, green and orange ink. At only £12,999, this printer achieves the widest color gamut in its class, with the ability to accurately hit up to 99% Pantone + solid coated colors.

Diversifying with UV printing

Visitors will also get to see the latest addition to the VersaUV LEF Series the LEF2-200. “The LEF series has been huge, and it has helped a lot of businesses make creative new products. This new machine comes with lots of little tweaks and upgrades that make it easier to use. We’ve really gone back to the core build of the machine and looked at ways to make the device more efficient. Along with the hardware changes, we’ve also included some LEF2 upgrades in the latest edition of VersaWorks, that can speed up production,” said academy manager, Joe Wigzell.

VersaUV S-Series

Roland’s S-Series wide format UV printers previewed at SDUK last year. Goleniowski said, “We’ve had a huge amount of interest in the S-Series and because it has such a wide range of applications and uses, it has attracted lots of diverse industries. Some want to print directly onto custom furniture, some want to print on lockers, some just want to print hundreds of phone cases at the same time.”

With the versatility of UV printing technology and the continuous suction belt, this machine makes it possible to print onto virtually any substrate as part of a non-stop production workflow. It’s a great choice for printers and suppliers as it can dramatically shorten the production cycle by eliminating the need for things like time-consuming set-up times associated with alternative methods.

A complete DTG solution with minimal investment

Roland’s first ever desktop direct-to-garment device, the VersaSTUDIO BT-12 is a complete DTG solution from Roland which combines reliable technology, user-friendly software and Roland’s legendary customer support. “We talk to a lot of signage businesses. More and more of them are looking for other ways to make money, like offering custom T-shirts or tote bags. This machine is the perfect way to test the waters and experiment with your market. Best of all, it’s so easy to use, it takes up hardly any space, and it’s extremely affordable,” said Ronee Gillett, dealer support for personalization and dye sublimation.

Compact and user-friendly engraving

Roland will also be showcasing the new DE-3 engraver by DGSHAPE. Building on the hugely successful technology of the EGX-350 desktop engraver, the DE-3 has been re-engineered to include time-saving features. For example, the new laser pointer which significantly cuts down set-up time and simplifies the process for less-experienced users. For sign and graphics businesses, this machine can add new capabilities like durable labeling and product customization.

Conclusion

After a year of intense product development, Roland is now putting these new products in front of the sign and graphics community and giving business owners a chance to get answers to their questions from the people who built the machines. Those who wish to see these devices on Stand F30 can register for free on the Sign and Digital UK website, or visit https://www.rolanddg.co.uk/shows/sduk19.

In 2024, we are looking at full recovery and growth-led investment in Indian printing

Indian Printer and Publisher founded in 1979 is the oldest B2B trade publication in the multi-platform and multi-channel IPPGroup. It created the category of privately owned B2B print magazines in the country. And by its diversification in packaging, (Packaging South Asia), food processing and packaging (IndiFoodBev) and health and medical supply chain and packaging (HealthTekPak), and its community activities in training, research, and conferences (Ipp Services, Training and Research) the organization continues to create platforms that demonstrate the need for quality information, data, technology insights and events.

India is a large and tough terrain and while its book publishing and commercial printing industry have recovered and are increasingly embracing digital print, the Indian newspaper industry continues to recover its credibility and circulation. The signage industry is also recovering and new technologies and audiences such as digital 3D additive printing, digital textiles, and industrial printing are coming onto our pages. Diversification is a fact of life for our readers and like them, we will also have to adapt with agility to keep up with their business and technical information needs.

India is one of the fastest growing economies in nominal and real terms – in a region poised for the highest change in year to year expenditure in printing equipment and consumables. Our 2024 media kit is ready, and it is the right time to take stock – to emphasize your visibility and relevance to your customers and turn potential markets into conversations.
