Andheri East based Prince Graphics has recently added its fourth Konica Minolta production press to cater to rising digital print volumes. Earlier this year, the print house bought a new Konica Minolta AccurioPress C6085 color digital press, adding to its three existing Konica Minolta black & white production presses and one Canon 10000 color digital press. In total, Prince Graphics’ shop floor has two high-speed color digital presses and three monochrome presses as well as a state-of-the-art finishing department, which consists of equipment from Duplo, Morgana and Joy, among numerous others smaller machines.
“This is our second digital color press within two years. We bought Canon 10000 less than two years ago and now we have installed a Konica Minolta C6085. The reason for expansion in our color printing capability was significant growth in print volumes,” says Rajesh Manodra, director, Prince Graphics. Three years ago, Prince Graphics was printing 30,000 color print impressions every month; now it prints about 3 lakh impressions each month. The Canon 10000 is printing about 2 lakh monthly impressions while the Konica Minolta C6085 has a monthly print volume of 1 lakh impressions, Manodra shares.
The 4-color AccurioPress C6085 has a speed of 85 pages per minute and can take maximum substrate weight of 400 gsm at the same maximum speeds. The machine is also blessed with the Simitri HD E toner for enhanced offset-like natural appearance. The low fusing temperature also ensures least damage to paper and results in high quality finishes and performance. Konica Minolta has also introduced ICCU unit, which helps in the auto calibration and auto registration of sheets in production.
Prince Graphics mainly serves corporate customers and prints business cards, brochures, posters, flyers, corporate stationery and leaflets, among others. It has customers from a range of segments, such as insurance, banking, stock broking, FMCG and pharmaceuticals, to name just a few. Prince Graphics also offers web-to-print solution through its website www.printingstationery.com and well as through a mobile app.
“We have an extremely robust IT backend to cater to the web-to-print segment. This is a very high growth area for us as more and more corporates are signing up for it,” Manodra says.
New Colorjet Vulcan installed for signage printing
Prince Digital operates its signage division under a separate entity called Nine Blinq, which operates from a unit adjacent to Prince Graphics. In April this year, Nine Blinq installed a brand new Colorjet VULCAN, which is the first UV roll-to-roll printing machine and uses Zero VOC UV inks. The VULCAN is equipped with Kyocera printhead, with the capability to deliver prints at very high printing quality and speed. The high-speed 3.2m UV LED roll-to-roll press was launched at Media Expo Delhi 2017.
“This is our second Colorjet press. We already have a Colorjet Polo Turbo so we were satisfied with Colorjet’s performance. S far as I know the VULCAN that we have installed is the first one in India,” says Manodra. In addition to the two Colorjet printers, Nine Blinq also has signage printers from Roland, Epson and HP.
