Upholding the trends and changes that are taking place in technology and regulations, Monotech Systems is displaying an array of UV-based green printing solutions at Media Expo, being held at Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. On the first day of the show, Monotech also talked about its tie-up with MASSIVit, a leading manufacturer of 3D printers from Israel, for the launch of super-size 3D printers in India that would replace conventional advertising with 3D display.

Manoj Garg, product head – wide format graphics from the company states, “Since the market is very sensitive and various regulatory changes are anticipated, the demand for eco-friendly printing solutions has increased. Sensing that, we are focusing more on offering solutions with UV inks that are eco-friendly. Also, printing on various recyclable medias instead PVC helps in reducing environmental hazards.”

The company has on display a UV Flatbed with spot UV, Pixeljet UV2333 for stationery, gifts and novelty printing, Pixeljet PowerPRO 3.2 meters for soft signage applications, UV LED roll-to-roll printer and Pixeljet UV 2512 RMO UV Hybrid Flatbed printer.

Superior technology with sustainable solutions
– Pixeljet UV 2333, a newly launched flatbed printer, is equipped with RICOH print-head and allows media thicknesses of 6.6 inches. The printer features CMYK + WV. This offers the flexibility of generating numerous applications for novelties, gifting, etc. Akash Kumar, senior manager – Marketing & Communications, Monotech Systems shared that the company plans to aggressively market the printer for small budget printing applications in tier-2 and -3 cities.

– The Pixeljet Powerpro is a roll-to-roll UV LED-curable printer, which comes in a 6-color and 4-color plus white version. The printer can handle a broad range of flexible media for indoor and outdoor applications. Powerpro comes equipped with UV LED lamps that enable the user to print on a wide media mix and save energy, costs and time. The 4-color plus white version is known for its ability to print white in different modes, thus improving the opacity of the printed material as well as increasing color contrast and readability.

– The Pixeljet 2512 RMO, a UV Hybrid flatbed printer, offers the capability of printing on rigid as well as soft media. This is a high production machine both for indoor and industrial applications like glass printing, wood printing, PVC printing, etc.

In addition to the above, Monotech has on display the Pixeljet Eco Solvent printer and larger format poster printers from Canon. A range of UV printing solutions from Agfa Graphics has also been displayed with an exclusive application gallery.

The MASSIVit is bringing the new era of advertising with 3D displaying instead of conventional advertising. The exclusive sample gallery of MASSIVit has been created and samples have been a point of attraction for the visitors.

This year, Monotech plans to promote plotters for large format printers from Canon with three UV printers, which are known for their sustainable features and eco-friendliness. However, the company is ready to provide support for its customers who want to retain their solvent printers and change the media instead of vinyl into any other soft fabric.

According to Kumar, “Our participation is totally based around the theme of green printing and innovative products. We have an array of products which are already popular and proven in the market as our customers have shown the trust. We hope to have a great mileage to our brand Pixeljet and alliance brands Agfa, MASSIVit and obviously more business through this event.”

The Covid-19 pandemic led to the country-wide lockdown on 25 March 2020. It will be two years tomorrow as I write this. What have we learned in this time? Maybe the meaning of resilience since small companies like us have had to rely on our resources and the forbearance of our employees as we have struggled to produce our trade platforms.

The print and packaging industries have been fortunate, although the commercial printing industry is still to recover. We have learned more about the digital transformation that affects commercial printing and packaging. Ultimately digital will help print grow in a country where we are still far behind in our paper and print consumption and where digital is a leapfrog technology that will only increase the demand for print in the foreseeable future.

Web analytics show that we now have readership in North America and Europe amongst the 90 countries where our five platforms reach. Our traffic which more than doubled in 2020, has at times gone up by another 50% in 2021. And advertising which had fallen to pieces in 2020 and 2021, has started its return since January 2022.

As the economy approaches real growth with unevenness and shortages a given, we are looking forward to the PrintPack India exhibition in Greater Noida. We are again appointed to produce the Show Daily on all five days of the show from 26 to 30 May 2022.

It is the right time to support our high-impact reporting and authoritative and technical information with some of the best correspondents in the industry. Readers can power Indian Printer and Publisher’s balanced industry journalism and help sustain us by subscribing.
