At PrintPack India 2017, HP India showcased the HP Indigo 12000 (upgraded version of HP Indigo 10000) for the first time in India along with the HP Indigo 7900 photo version digital press. In addition, the company had on display a range of prepress, postpress and web-to-print solutions for commercial, photo, publishing, labels and packaging segments. In the applications front, the company demonstrated practical applications of its latest specialty inks, including fluorecent pink, fade-resistant inks, invisible UV red ink and the all-new premium white ink.

“The HP Indigo 12000 offers more high-end features in comparison to the Indigo 10000. Features like One Shot printing enable people to print on plastics. One Shot extends substrates to canvas, synthetics and metalized media,” said A Appadurai, country manager, Indigo and Inkjet Web Press, Graphics Solutions Business, HP Inc. India. “Now we can print on a wide variety of B2 size media.” In the Indigo 12000, HP has incorporated all the opportunities available in the inks front. While the Indigo 10000 prints CMYK, orange, violet and white, the upgraded version comes with fluorescent pink. “Fluorescent pink has become an instant hit,” he quipped.

“In addition to fluorescent pink, we have also introduced photo specialty inks like ‘light light black’ and ‘light black’ in the Indigo 12000. The press prints at a slightly higher speed at 4600 duplex sheets per hour,” said Appadurai.

Sharing his feedback about the Indigo 7900 photo version digital press, Appadurai said, “Indigo 7900 is a press specially made for India.” It is built on the Indigo 7800 press, which we launched in drupa last year. The press uses super fine blanket instead of regular ones. Super fine blanket offers smoother and sharper images, which is very important in the photo printing industry. In addition, the Indigo 7900 comes with new binary ink developers and the Photospeciality software.
