With an aim to supply the printing and graphic arts industry with highquality consumables, machinery and after-sales service, Mumbai-based Malhotra Graphics showcased the BM 350 booklet maker and Digibook PUR binder from Morgana for the first time in India at PrintPack 2017. In addition, Malhotra Graphics also put on display some automatic, semiautomatic and manual punching and binding solutions from Renz at its stand.

Sanjay Malhotra, chief executive officer of Malhotra Graphics said, “Earlier we were restricted to digital cutting machines but now we have made our foray into professional cutting machines. We faced many upheavals in the last two months due to demonetization, which made us think twice about participating in PrintPack. However, we have received tremendous response here. In fact, I feel that the market is bouncing back and we are expecting 15-20% growth in this financial year.”

He confirmed sale of 85% of the products displayed at their stand, which included a range of postpress machines from UK-based manufacturer Morgana and Renz.

Andy Cooper, export manager – Asia Pacific region said, “Every year we come with some new products that are first introduced in America and Europe and then launched in India a year later. This year, we introduced the Digibook 200 PUR binder and BM 350 booklet maker for which we received good number of serious enquiries and we also managed to book some orders, which shows how successful the event has been for us.”

Morgana’s PUR200 is ideal for short runs of PUR perfect bound books for high-end items such as photo albums, coffee-table books, etc. The machine can be operated in manual as well as automatic modes and can bind books with spine thickness up to 50 mm. The BM 350 is a booklet-making solution with options of inline trimming and squareback fold. The BM 350’s square fold unit allows one to square edged books with flatter finish and the trimmer for a cleaner finish.

Malhotra emphasized, “Our approach towards our customers is different from our competitors as we strive to bring international quality products as per Indian expectations and pricing. Most importantly, we believe in reliability, high quality and after-sales service through which we can establish a benchmark in the industry.” Malhotra Graphics ensures that it only delivers highquality products that are also diversified enough to meet the varied needs of its clients. They have a competitive price range, with low maintenance costs.

Talking about the company’s expansion plans, Malhotra shared, “We are currently focusing more on establishing our new products but we are also constantly looking at bringing interesting and innovative products that are not only reliable but also stable in the Indian working environment. We are already working on some of products and we plan to showcase them soon in some upcoming exhibition.”

According to Cooper, “The Indian digital market is growing rapidly because now more people are moving from offset to digital. We are offering the fourth generation in digital printing and have already created a strong presence in the Indian market, which will help us expand our presence here.” Supporting Cooper’s statement, Malhotra said, “In today’s digital world, the run lengths are getting smaller. The machines from Morgana are perfect for short runs and can also be used as a sample maker for bigger print firms.”
