At the recently held Media Expo in Pragati Maidan, Fujifilm displayed its newly launched large-format eco-solvent printer, Vybrant 1800. Manufactured at Macart’s manufacturing facility in Pune, the printer has speeds up to 20 sq. m per hour. It features Fujifilm Dimatix Q-class Industrial Quality print head and runs on Peizo DOD technology. “As a pre-launching BTL activity, we had sent out a lot of mailers to customers regarding Vybrant 1800 and response so far has been very good,” says SM Ramprasad of Fujifilm.
“Another highlight of our participation at Media Expo is that we have installed close to 30 UV printers in India within a span of just one year; this will instill some kind of confidence in our users in terms of how fast the adaptation of UV is happening in the Indian market. One year ago, very few people showed interest in UV application. However, today things have changed drastically. Apart from these 30 customers, we have around 50 customers who are willing to jump into the UV bandwagon,” says Ramprasad.
Speaking about the newly launched Vybrant 1800 eco-solvent printer, Yasunobu Nishiyama, managing director, Fujifilm India says, “Fujifilm has always believed in innovation and Media Expo is one such platform to showcase our stateof-the-art printing technology and products. Our latest product Vybrant 1800 is Fujifilm’s first step towards developing our products in India. The push given by the government’s Make in India initiative gives us great scope for our business. Since the market outlook looks positive, we want to utilize this opportunity to our best and so we offer our new Fujifilm Inkjet Technology, Vybrant 1800, manufactured in Pune. With the launch of Made in India, eco-solvent printer, Fujifilm hopes to strengthen its presence in the Indian graphic arts segment.”
Apart from launching the largeformat eco-solvent printer, Fujifilm also showcased a couple of other products at Media Expo 2016. The company displayed Acuity EY, which uses Fujifilm’s award-winning Uvijet inks. Capable of printing on rigid as well as flexible PoP materials up to 50.8 mm thick, the printer comes with white ink option which enables printing on materials like wood, metal, clear and colored products. “We are also displaying some very niche applications using our printers, and visitors are highly impressed by the blackout that is possible and with the thermoforming applications where even after heating and molding, resin does not crack. These are some of the advantages customers today are looking for and we are able to provide them,” concludes Ramprasad.
