Mathrubhumi Printing & Publishing, one of the largest newspaper publishers in Kerala, has signed for 20 Krause LS Performance 250 violet platesetters with BlueFin processors and Krause JetNet workflow at drupa. This is the biggest single order in terms of number of machines for the manufacturer till date.

Mathrubhumi is the second most widely read newspaper daily in Kerala, after Malayala Manorama. The publisher also publishes a variety of magazines and supplements including the prestigious weekly literary magazine, Mathrubhumi Azhchappathippu. Printed at 10 printing locations in Kerala, the plants use 25 CtP devices most of which have been in service for more than a decade. The 20 new platesetters will replace the old machines to feed the higher productivity needs of the several new TKS 4x1printing presses at the plants.

Mathrubhumi expanded its production facilities last year with a new TKS at its Kozhikode plant, its fourth press from the Japanese manufacturer. The company already had three TKS printing presses before the new press, one each at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochin and Kannur. According to a press release, the TKS press came fitted with QI Press Controls’ mRC-3D color register system. In India, QI Press Controls expands its business opportunities through Krause Biagosch India.
