Founded in 2001, Surat-based Klick Digital Press meets the demands of consumers in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh by printing premium quality products including personalized photo books, album bags, boxes and calendars. Recently, the company installed a 7-color HP Indigo 10000 digital press. Bhavan Navapara, director of Klick Digital, says, “The HP 10000 is unparalleled in terms of size and print quality. With a sheet print size of 20. 9 x 29.5 inches and built-in duplex mechanism, the press makes it possible to print pocket folders, brochures and posters. Its print quality can even exceed offset print quality. With HP Indigo’s liquid ElectroInk the new machine is capable of printing 2 million color impressions a month. The combination of press speed with the high number of copies imposed on a sheet delivers at least two-and-a-half times the productivity of any digital sheetfed press in the market.”

Navapara goes on to add, “In the photo album industry, we print on a wide variety of substrates such as transparent, translucent and metallic surfaces. The HP Indigo 10000 digital press supports substrates ranging from 70 to 400 gsm including coated, uncoated and colored paper. Earlier we focussed only on wedding albums, but now with an image size of 20.1 x 29.13 inches and better productivity we can look at both printed albums and other commercial products. The HP Indigo 10000 provides a costeffective solution which will enable us produce catalogs and posters for the textile market.”

To gain a competitive edge, Klick Digital focussed on providing unique solutions to consumers. With this thought, Klick installed an HP Indigo 5600 digital press to print albums and a Scodix S75 for embossing and glossy finishes and enhancement of images. Printed samples were distributed in Gujarat and gradually began finding takers in the market. The company was awarded the Asia Pacific HP Digital Print Excellence Award 2015 and the Scodix Design Award for the photo book category.

“We had also seen some other brands but keeping in mind the technical services, high quality print, offset palette finishing and printing on various substrates can enable us to move ahead with commercial jobs, and weighed in on our HP digital press purchase. With the HP Indigo 10000, we can print a maximum 20. 9 x 29.5 inches for wedding albums. Right now the 12 x 18 inches album size is common in the market and we are expecting demand for large sized albums,” concludes Navapara.
