Ricoh India showed its end-to-end solutions for the photo industry at the Consumer Electronic Imaging Fair (CEIF) in Mumbai from 7 to 10 January 2016. On display were cameras, projectors, production printing presses and other third-party finishing equipment. “We have tried to recreate a lab environment here at the event by providing technologies for capturing an image to printing it,” said Umang Singhal, national business and marketing manager, production printing.

On show were two production printers from the Ricoh stable, the Pro C5100 and the 5-color Pro C7100. The Pro C5100 can print full color or black-and-white documents at up to 80 ppm and has a color image resolution up to 1,200 x 4,800 dpi. The printer can print on a wide range of media up to 13 x 19.2 inches and banners as large as 13 x 49.6 inches. The printer can load up to 8,250 sheets in its feeder.

“This printer is versatile, which isin line with the demands of the photo industry and it has a very good color management system. And all this is available at a very aggressive price point,” said Singhal. The Pro C7100 is a printer which, according to Singhal, is capable of transforming the industry. “The fifth color option in Pro C7100 can help take the photo industry to the next level. Industry players can create niche products and add tremendous value for their customers. And in today’s competitive environment value addition is key.”

With the Pro C7100X series, customers can use the fifth color station for clear gloss or a white toner for new applications and deliver a premium finish. Talking about the response at the event, Singhal said that it was good. Additionally, some important clients also visited the Ricoh stand.
