More than 300 exhibitors took part in the 2015 edition of Pamex, one of India’s main events dedicated to the printing and allied machinery industries. Pamex 2015, held in Mumbai from 9 to 12 December, was inaugurated by Uddhav Thackeray, president of Shiv Sena. The event attracted all the leading names from the printing industry, from press manufacturers to ink makers to suppliers of consumables. HP India, Canon, LineOMatic Graphic Industries, Ricoh India, EFI India, Xerox India, Print Mac, Epson and Autoprint Machinery Manufacturers marked their presence at the event. Companies from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Germany, Canada, Malaysia and UK also displayed their products. Many leading players in the digital printing space launched new products that generated good response. Tushar Dhote, co-chairman of Pamex, Suni Garg, honorary general secretary, AIFMP, Shyamal Chandra Basu, president, AIFMP, were among the dignitaries present at the show.

Thackeray thanked the Pamex organizers for the invitation and recollected his association with the printing industry, while Dhote spoke about the Pamex roadshows that were conducted across the state of Maharashtra. He said that there is a lot of potential in smaller towns and events like Pamex help them in keeping abreast with the latest technology.

The first day started off on a slow pace with a relatively thin crowd but the footfall on the second day was significantly higher. The third day pulled the largest audience. Exhibitors said the visitors were from across the board. Small to very big printers took a keen interest in the products displayed at various stands during the exhibition. Several companies reported large number of serious enquiries and expect a significant chunk of enquiries to convert into actual business. Going by the response received from both the visitors and the exhibitors, Pamex 2015 can be termed as a big success.
