The World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (Wan-Ifra) will induct 76 publishing and printing com- panies from 26 countries into its presti- gious International Newspaper Color Quality Club during a ceremony at the World Publishing Expo, the largest glob- al trade exhibition for the news publish- ing and media industry to be held in Am- sterdam from 13 to 15 October.
The members of the 2014-2016 edi- tion of the Color Quality Club, which for two decades has recognised the world’s best color newspaper printers, have demonstrated exceptional print- ing quality that meets rigorous interna- tional standards and offers readers and advertisers high-quality products.
The induction will take place during a ceremony on 15 October at the World Publishing Expo. Some 8,000 visitors are expected at the Expo, which will fea- ture more than 300 exhibitors as well as 100 speakers and presenters.
Once every two years for the last 20 years, Wan-Ifra has offered newspapers worldwideanopportunity todemonstrate their color printing quality through the International Newspaper Color Quality Club. Newspapers that succeed in quali- fying for inclusion can draw on this dis- tinctionto optimize theirwork processes, motivate their personnel, improve their standing among their readers and con- vince demanding advertising customers. The Color Quality Club is more than a technical printing competition, as it offers the participating companies the additional possibility to benchmark their printing quality against recognized international standards and improve it. There would be detailed individual re- ports for quality optimization founded on objective measuring methods and quality judgements by a jury composed of international experts. “The results of the competition pro-
vide confirmation for the successful printing and publishing companies of their successful personnel motivation, correct choice of material, in-depth knowledge of the setting parameters for the entire workflow as well as their skilled use of measuring and control techniques,” said Manfred Werfel, deputy CEO of Wan-Ifra.
