On 6 December 2013, Vipin Tuteja, executive director, Technology, Channels and International Business, and Anil Arora, general manager and head Business Solutions and Services, of Xerox India demonstrated the Xerox ConnectKey software solution at their Gurgaon office. This is an area where Xerox had been lagging behind com- petition, but now its advanced Connec- tKey offering makes up for lost time. ConnectKey is simply a software solu- tion that optimizes the workflow output for multifunctional MFP devices across platforms. It comes with a built-in secu- rity protocol, enhanced connectivity and convenience, cost and energy norms, built-in productivity and eco- friendly credentials.

One can share, access and print doc- uments from the desktop, laptop, tablet, notebook or the smartphone or from content available in the web or the cloud with the help of ConnectKey. The security protocol is enabled with McAfee technology integration for im- age overwrite and secure and author- ized printing. Its has a timed-out print command that gets deleted automati- cally if not accessed by the user within a specified time period. It has mail facili- ty to external servers with encryption to prevent interception or corruption en- route. There are protocols to control cost, to give limited but functional au- thority to users based on company IT policy, and for restricting the usage of colour printing. The Cisco TrustSec identity services engine ISE provides IT centric security policy and compliance and the EnergyWise program ensures that in every generation the Xerox printer would consume less energy than the current device. The ConnectKey so- lution package is cost effective and ranges from `2.5 lakh to `7.5 lakh de- pending on the sophistication desired.
