Recently Monotech Systems installed its 200th Pixeljet Xaar Proton Head wide-format printer at The Corporation Press in Chennai. On 13 December 2013, the machine was inaugurated by mayor Saidai Duraisamy in the presence of TP Jain, managing director and VT Vedanayagam, senior manager – business development, Monotech Systems.

The Pixeljet Xaar Proton Head wide format printer has several advanced features and will enable Corporation Press to do all their wide format printing in-house. The special features of the machines are its latest Xaar Proton 382 / 35 pico-litre 9.5 KHz print heads, negative or positive ink flow system, and the FPGA high speed raster control system with encoder. Together, these ensure good printing speed and high precision printing at a 1.5 to 3 mm distance between the print heads and the media resulting in high precision printing. The machine is manufactured by Monotech at its factory in Ambattur.

Monotech’s Pixeljet wide format printers are installed across the country using Xaar Proton, Konica and Spectra Polaris printheads on the same platform. Monotech manufactures the Pixeljet UV flatbed printers, Pixeljet Eco Solvent printers and the Jetsci High Speed Industrial Inkjet System. It is the first company in India to manufacture high speed industrial inkjet printing system based on Kyocera print heads with printing speed on its Jetsci platform. In addition the company is also the Indian distributor of Matan super wide printers, Oce’s Arizona UV flatbed printers, GCC UV flatbed printers, Canon inkjet printers as well as the Oce TDS product range.

In the digital printing segment, Monotech is the largest Indian distributor of Konica Minolta Production Printing Systems and offers an exhaustive range of colour and monochrome production printers addressing light and mid production market. In the colour category, the C6000, C7000 and C8000 models are offered to digital print

shops, commercial printers and graphic designers, whereas, the C70hc and C8000 are offered to colour labs for printing wedding and other photo albums. In the monochrome category, the C952, C1052 and C1250 with print speeds of 95ppm, 105ppm and 125ppm respectively, address digital and commercial printers and publishers.

In the prepress category, the basysPrint UV CtP is the main product with more than 250 machines installed across India. Monotech is also the distributor of the Amsky UV CtP, ECRM and Xante violet photopolymer

CtPs. The company which is now akin to a one-stop shop for digital prepress, pressroom and postpress equipment sells the Scodix UV Enhancement press where any digital or offset print up to B2 plus size can be given special effects and textures that are tactile or haptic. Monotech’s current install base is more than 700 machines across India.

Recently Monotech has started addressing the packaging market. For this purpose it has become the distributor of the EFI Jetrion UV label press, and the Bar Graphic Machinery slitter-rewinder and inspection system.
