On 30 April 2014, IDEAlliance is organizing a webinar on wide format systems with an independent technical evaluation to be presented by Abhay Sharma, professor, Graphic Communications, Ryerson University, USA.
In this seminar, attendees will learn the results of the study and discover what it means to be state-of-the-art as it relates to wide format signage printing. Twenty four different system configurations were submitted by eleven leading manufacturers. The results of the study are designed to support buyers and service providers to make informed buying decisions about the world’s leading wide format inkjet systems.
IDEAlliance recently conducted an independent third party technical evaluation of commercial roll to roll and flatbed, wide and grand format inkjet printing systems for the display graphics, signage and POP industries. The study provides independent, un- biased, sound technical data on system performance and capabilities. Devices studied used light or eco solvent inks, UV-curable inks or latex ink. Media used ranges from card stock to cast or calendared vinyl to rigid media including Coroplast.
Viewing distances for these products range from point-of-purchase to greater distances for street signs, banners and billboards. Testing was coordinated via Ryerson University, Toronto and California Polytechnic State University (CalPoly). Each attendee of this webinar will receive a free printed version of the study results report to evaluate the participating systems’
ide-relevance to their specific business requirements and priorities.
The key issues which this webinar will cover are the extent of the color gamut of each printing system, the accuracy of the supplier’s color management system, the uniformity of the printer across a wide area, how stable a system is over time, the maximum deviation between image centers, the volume of ink usage, the practical speed of the systems, the density loss during abrasion, the light fastness and outdoor durability and the system configuration price. This webinar session is scheduled at 7.30 to 8.30 pm India time (3 pm to 4 pm GMT) and the fee for IDEAlliance members is US$ 39 while for non- members it is US$ 49.
