Konica Minolta Expands NEEV and URJA CSR Programmes with Sixth Electric Vehicle to Support Mid-Day Meal Programme for 3,000 Students

Konica Minolta Business Solutions India has expanded its NEEV and URJA CSR programmes with the deployment of its sixth electric vehicle, in partnership with The Akshaya Patra Foundation. Following the successful inauguration of an electric vehicle in Hyderabad earlier this year, the latest deployment in Delhi will support the timely and sustainable delivery of nutritious mid-day meals to nearly 3,000 students across government schools in Delhi and Hyderabad. Over the past three years, the programme has cumulatively supported nearly 6,800 students across five cities—Varanasi, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Hyderabad, and Delhi, further strengthening the company’s commitment to child welfare, community development, and environmental sustainability.

The expansion builds on Konica Minolta’s long-standing CSR commitment through its NEEV and URJA programmes, which together promote children’s well-being while advancing sustainable community development. While NEEV supports access to nutritious mid-day meals that contribute to children’s health, learning, and continued education, URJA complements the programme by enabling cleaner and more sustainable meal distribution through electric mobility. With the addition of the Delhi vehicle, Konica Minolta has now supported six electric vehicles over the past three years, helping strengthen sustainable logistics for community nutrition programmes across multiple locations in India.

Commenting on the programme, Katsuhisa Asari, managing director, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India, said, “At Konica Minolta, we believe that sustainable progress is achieved by creating value for both society and the environment. Through our NEEV and URJA CSR programmes, we are committed to improving children’s access to nutrition while promoting cleaner and more sustainable ways of serving communities. Every meal delivered through clean mobility is an opportunity to nurture healthier young minds and contribute to a more resilient future. As we continue to expand these programmes, we remain focused on building meaningful partnerships that create long-term social value and support inclusive, sustainable community development.”

Nutritious mid-day meal programmes play a vital role in encouraging school attendance while supporting children’s health, learning, and overall development. By integrating electric mobility into the meal delivery ecosystem, Konica Minolta is helping reduce the environmental footprint of daily operations while improving the efficiency and reliability of meal distribution. The programme demonstrates how social responsibility and sustainability can work together to create meaningful, long-term impact for communities.

Through its continued partnership with The Akshaya Patra Foundation, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India remains committed to creating lasting social value by improving children’s access to nutrition, supporting education, and advancing sustainable mobility solutions. Today, the company’s NEEV and URJA CSR programmes have reached nearly 6,800 students across five cities over the past three years, reflecting its continued commitment to scalable and sustainable community development. Guided by its CSR pillars, NEEV, focused on child development and nutrition, and URJA, dedicated to promoting green and renewable energy, the company continues to contribute towards building healthier communities and a more sustainable future, one meal and one mile at a time.
