At drupa 2024, Fujifilm captivated the industry with a series of significant product announcements, strategic partnerships, and robust sales figures. • IST METZ: Introducing SMARTcure, an ingenious digital curing assistant for Fujifilm’s LuXtreme LED UV curing system, powered by artificial intelligence.
  • XMPie: Delivering state-of-the-art variable data solutions to Europe’s print market.

The event also saw the announcement of the first global sale of the HS Series, a high-production, high-quality single-pass inkjet solution for sign and display, developed in collaboration with Barberan. Notable sales included multiple transactions for the Jet Press 750S and a significant uptake of the Revoria range presses, underscoring Fujifilm’s formidable market presence and the high demand for its innovative solutions.

On 28 May, the opening day of drupa, senior officials from Fujifilm held a press conference to provide an in-depth overview of Fujifilm’s solutions. Sachiko Suzuki, general manager at Fujifilm, elaborated on the advancements in the Revoria press lineup, announcing two new compact models capable of running five colors – the Revoria Press EC2100 and Revoria Press SC285.

The EC2100 boasts a speed of 100 ppm, while the SC285 operates at 85 ppm. “The EC2100 and SC285 are versatile machines capable of processing envelopes, banner sheets, heavy-weight films, and much more. With the LED print head, they deliver superb image quality. Additionally, we offer specialty colors with a fifth engine to create vibrant print applications,” Suzuki remarked.

Keita Yamamuro, senior group manager for Digital Printing at Fujifilm, discussed the new inkjet system and inkjet ink technologies. He highlighted the JetPress 750 for the folding carton segment, mentioning enhancements such as a varnish solution, food-safe ink, and thicker paper compatibility. “We believe this could revolutionize folding carton printing,” Yamamuro said.

Yamamuro introduced the JetPress 1160CF, a roll-to-roll printer for the commercial segment, announcing its commercial availability. “We have successfully installed one unit in Japan, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,” he said.
