GlobaLocal 2014 enters fifth year

The GlobaLocal 2014 meet will be held at Hotel Lalit in New Delhi on 13 and 14 February. After the key note speech, the CEO Roundtable will flag off this year’s Global Local event discussing self publishing, social media promotion, technology innovation and new business models. The session will be moderated by Anil Padmanabhan, chief of bureau at HT media. Among the speakers will be Brijesh Kumar, founder and CEO of Digital Media Initiatives; Kiruba Shankar, CEO Business Blogging; and Winnie Hung, strategy development manager HP Singapore

This will be followed by a workshop on trans-media story telling by Sangram Surve, CEO Think WhyNot India; a seminar on buying and selling rights by Lynette Owen, copyright director Pearson Education UK; and Arpita Das, editor and publisher Yoda Press. The post lunch session will consist of business match making and meet the expert sessions.

Day 2 of the event will have the STM round table session moderated by P Venkatraman, director ofInternational affairs Jaypee Brothers, a reputed distributor and publisher of medical books. Other participants will be Nitasha Devsar, managing director Taylor & Francis India; Rohit Kumar, director sales of Reed Elsevier; PT Rajasekaran, managing director Panther Publishing; Puneet Mehrotra of STM Journals; and Michael Healey of Copyright Clearance in New York. This will be followed by a workshop on innovating start-upsfollowed by the second day’s seminar on buying and selling rights. The post lunch session on day two will have presentations on industry insights and trends.
