Edifice Technologies, a distributor of HP large format printers, recently held a roadshow at Hotel Better Home International in Andheri to display three large format solutions from the HP portfolio—the HP Designjet Z5600, HP Designjet D5800 and HP Designjet T830. The Designjet Z5600 was displayed for the general public for the first time at the event.
HP Designjet Z5600 is a multiroll, 44-inch graphics printer, aimed at the photo as well as graphics segments. The HP chromatic red ink enhances the color gamut—ideal for PoP signs and posters. “With pigment-based inks, the longevity of the print gets enhanced. Also the chromatic red enhances the color gamut and would have great appeal to photographic segment,” said Saumitra Trivedi, managing partner, Edifice Technologies.
HP Designjet T830 is a multifunction printer with capabilities to print, scan, copy and share. It can conveniently scan, share, print right from the smartphone or tablet and create its own Wi-Fi network for easy connectivity with Wi-Fi Direct.
The showpiece of the event was HP Designjet D5800, whose USP lies in its low operational expenditure. Customers can use third-party ink from the very first day, which help them save approximately 70–75% on cost of consumables. Designjet D5800 can handle media with maximum width of 60 inches. At the roadshow, Colorgate RIP software was displayed along with the D5800, which, Trivedi said, has a lasting impact on the visitors. Now customers will have the option of two RIPs—Colorgate and Onix.
Talking about the response seen at the roadshow, Trivedi said around 70–80 people visited the event with the majority comprising of print service providers (PSPs) and copy shop owners. “We were able to sign deals for four D5800 units during the day. The buyers were mostly from Andheri, Ghatkopar and Churchgate areas. They are all current HP users and are upgrading to new systems,” he informed.
