Canon’s extensive production print portfolio on display at drupa 2016 includes a range of high-specification digital inkjet presses for continuous and sheetfed work across a spectrum of high-volume commercial print applications including an extended family of digital toner presses, delivering up to 100 pages a minute for high-quality commercial print applications; wide format output devices, including flatbed and roll-to-roll, toner and inkjet, covering a range of applications from commercial wide format print, through signage and graphics, to decorative and functional print; a portfolio of workflow automation solutions and supporting software; and a growing range of integrated and off-line finishing solutions.

The highlight for most visitors at the 4,000 square metre stand will be the first opportunity to see Canon’s most recently launched production print systems, including, Océ VarioPrint i300 – an inkjet sheetfed press with new features and finishing options; imagePRESS C10000VP – a digital production press with a speed of 100 ppm; imagePRESS C8000VP – a digital production press with a speed of 80 ppm; Océ ColorStream 6000 Chroma – a high-speed commercial inkjet system featuring the new Chromera ink set; ImageStream 2400 – a full-color inkjet press for standard coated papers; and ColorWave 910 – a high-speed, singlepass color inkjet printer.

One of the application highlights of the Canon stand at drupa 2016 will be the brand’s new continuous feed inkjet press – the Océ ColorStream 6000 Chroma showing absolute on-demand book production in outstanding color quality. The press will be configured as a completely integrated system with the Zero Speed Splicer u40 and Libra One book block solution from Canon finishing partner Tecnau. This unique configuration aims to elevate books-on demand production to a new level – from continuous roll to book blocks with variable page count and format, involving on-the-fly paper changes, signature changes from 2- to 3-up, at production speeds of up to 127 metres a minute.
