The marketing director of Megabound, N Srinivasa Reddy, was a very busy man at the company’s stand at Print Pack 2017. In fact, the Megabound stand was one of the busiest at the event where Indian Printer & Publisher finally managed to meet him for a brief discussion on his company’s participation at the event. We asked him what Megabound had displayed at the show, to which he replied, “We have displayed complete hard case binding solutions for diary, notebook, exam pads, and table top calendars. There are 18 types of machines that we have displayed here which include case binding machines, casing in machines, joint forming machines. The prices of our machines range from Rs. 3.5 to 40 lakhs.”

“We’re the pioneers in India for case binding machines which we have been manufacturing in the country for the last 15 years. Overall we have installed more than 5,000 of our machines, of which, 400 have been installed abroad in Europe, South America, Middle East and Africa among other places. Our customers are happy with our machines,” he stated.

Reddy was pleased with the response his company received at the event. “In this exhibition we have booked orders for 70 machines and we have received inquiries from numerous customers. For us, this is the biggest and most successful show. Many times, we sell sets of three to four machines making up one composite group; we sold 50 machines in these types of sets at this event.”

Speaking about the company’s new launches at Printpack 17, Reddy said, “This time we have launched new machines meant for India – automatic endpaper pasting machines and box-cropping machines which are purely Indian made Megabound machines. We also launched a case corner-rounding machine which is a new concept in the country. In this exhibition, we have launched five new machines.”

He then touched upon the efforts Megabound is making toward establishing better customer relationships. “We are developing our efficiencies in handling customer requirements and feedback which will help us serve our market better. Our aim is, the customer should not buy the machines from anywhere else; we’ll meet all his requirements.”

On being asked about Megabound’s worldwide sales, Reddy replied, “Our major market is India which accounts for over 60 to 70% of our sales and the remaining 30-40% of our sales is in overseas markets. We get more orders from our existing customers which means our machines are proven. Last year both India and overseas we installed 120 machines and are looking forward to 30% growth in the coming year.”
