After a silver jubilee conference in Chennai last year, WAN IFRA India conference moves to Hyderabad this time around. It will take place from 26 to 27 September 2018 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre. After digital unsettled the industry, publishers across the world have traced the industry scenario to survive in the business. For newspapers, digital is no longer a threat and the challenges are within. Problems such as declining revenue and supply-demand gap in newsprint among others have forced the publishers to increase the cover price and take various cost-cutting and efficiency improving measures.
While this is on one side, publishers believe that content is the key to success; newsrooms are being modernized to deliver quality journalism in different formats and platforms. The challenges of fake news and promiscuous behavior of audience are being addressed using big data analysis and artificial intelligence in newsrooms.
Furthermore, this conference will address the latest trends in news publishing worldwide. It will bring ideas followed by leading market players to encounter the challenges. WAN IFRA India 2018 will have two parallel conference tracks; first, the World Editors Forum South Asia Summit for editors; second, publishers and World Printers Forum Conference for newspapers production managers. The conferences will offer ideas, insights and knowledge to thrive in the business and drive into the future.
The event will also feature learning workshops on 25 September 2018 on Social Media for editors, Innovation in Printing and Google News Lab workshop.
