At Pamex 2026 in Mumbai, Katsura India and Provin Group are showcasing their flagship rubber roller solutions designed for offset presses. At the core of Katsura India’s showcase are its inking and dampening rubber rollers developed for oil-based, combi, and UV offset printing applications.
According to the company, these rollers are engineered to deliver balanced ink transfer, excellent rebound characteristics, and strong resistance to glazing—critical factors in maintaining stable print quality over long production runs.
The performance benefits translate directly to the shop floor. Reduced start-up waste, improved dot stability, and consistent ink laydown help printers achieve faster makereadies and more predictable output. According to Akshay Kaushal, CEO, Katsura India, these attributes are particularly relevant for packaging and commercial printers handling high-mix jobs and demanding substrates.
“Our focus has always been on delivering high-quality, high-performance rollers that genuinely improve press performance, without making them unaffordable,” Kaushal said. “Consistency on press is no longer a luxury; it’s a necessity.”
A key highlight at the exhibition would be the launch of phthalate-free rubber rollers, a new product line that highlights Katsura India’s commitment to sustainable printing consumables. Manufactured using a specially developed phthalate-free compound, these rollers are designed to meet emerging environmental and workplace safety standards while maintaining the performance expected from premium offset rollers.
The new range offers several advantages, such as lower VOC emissions and safer handling conditions for press operators. Importantly, the rollers are suitable for all standard offset and packaging printing applications, making sustainability accessible without compromising productivity.
“This launch represents a significant step towards eco-friendly print consumables in India,” Kaushal explained. “Printers are increasingly being asked to comply with global environmental norms, and our phthalate-free rollers help them stay regulatory-ready while also creating a safer workplace.”
One of the defining strengths of Katsura India’s offering lies in its manufacturing philosophy. The rollers are produced in India using Japanese compound expertise and engineering standards, ensuring tight tolerances in balance, roundness, and surface finish. This precision manufacturing approach results in higher press stability and longer roller life.
“At the end of the day, rollers may look simple, but their precision directly impacts print quality,” Kaushal said. “We follow Japanese standards of manufacturing, which ensures reliability and performance, while local production helps us control lead times and costs.”
By localizing manufacturing while retaining global quality benchmarks, Katsura India delivers what Kaushal described as “high-quality, high-performance rollers at pocket-friendly prices.” Reduced logistics costs and faster availability further strengthen the value proposition for Indian printers.
Reflecting on the industry trends, Katsura India sees the print sector moving steadily towards efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and sustainability. The shift away from pure price competition toward value-based purchasing is becoming more evident, particularly among quality-conscious printers.
“The industry is now beginning to appreciate the importance of quality products more than just price wars,” Kaushal noted. “Precision products that are high in quality and smartly priced are at the heart of this transition.”
As presses become more automated and print buyers demand consistency across shorter runs, the role of reliable consumables such as rollers becomes increasingly critical.
Pamex has long been regarded as a focused exhibition attracting visitors from across India, particularly from the western region. Katsura India marks its first appearance at the show, an opportunity to introduce its solutions and its sustainability-led innovations to a wider audience.
“With our first appearance at Pamex, we are keen on introducing something new to the industry,” Kaushal concluded. “We believe our products align perfectly with where Indian printing is headed.”
