India-based Monotech, which produces and exports webfed inkjet presses for book and label printing, and is also the main distributor of Ricoh digital presses in the country, says that one of its strategies is to enable all its digital press customers and even offset customers to be equipped for embellishment. Embellishment has emerged as a dominant value-add trend in commercial and packaging printing, whether it uses digital deposition of UV inks and coatings or transfer foiling techniques.

The company now has three models of its embellishment machines – Novema, Radiant Pro, and the Vertex (B2), which was first shown at Printpack in February of this year. First unveiled as a prototype at Printpack India 2025, and since commercially released, the PixelGlow Vertex is the first Indian-made fully automated B2-size multi-pass digital embellishment system for UV and foiling applications.

Now upgraded with AI-driven registration precision, the Vertex embellishment machines achieve precise layer alignment and deliver very high-quality and catchy UV and foil effects with variable embossing levels on substrates ranging from 170 gsm to 600 gsm, according to the company.

In a recent conversation with Monotech’s management, we learned that the Vertex has caught on in the market, with about half a dozen installs, including one by PM Digital in Chennai, the first Scodix customer in India. Additionally, the B2 Vertex embellishment machines have been exported to Kenya, the Middle East, and the United States. TP Jain, managing director of Monotech, says the quality is good and its embellishment machines are very economical, which opens up a large potential customer base globally.

The upgraded PixelGlow Radiant Pro Plus, which is a medium-sized embellishment machine, brings enhanced control, enables better 3D textures, and ‘ultra-smooth’ embossing effects and faster speeds. “Our goal is simple,” concludes Jain. “To empower our customers with technology that drives profitability, inspires creativity, and keeps them ahead in the market. PixelGlow Vertex and Radiant Pro Plus aren’t just upgrades — they represent the evolution of print.” With these three levels of embellishment devices, Monotech says it continues to redefine what ‘Made in India’ innovation and performance can deliver in the fast-evolving print landscape.
