Teamwork Arts, producer of the Jaipur Literature Festival and its international editions, hosted the 11th edition of JLF Colorado on 13–14 September 2025, in collaboration with the Boulder Public Library & City of Boulder. The festival was made possible with the generous support of the Junta de Castilla y León, the region partner for JLF Colorado 2025.
The festival brought together acclaimed writers, artists, and thinkers for two days of rich literary dialogue and exchange, featuring a series of sessions that left audiences enriched and inspired. Among the highlights, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Andrew Sean Greer, in conversation with Arsen Kashkashian, reflected on his novel Less Is Lost. He spoke of the art of being out of place, the humor and vulnerability woven into his work, and how stories of displacement can also be ones of belonging.
In Great Black Hope, writer and critic Rob Franklin, in conversation with Pardis Mahdavi, spoke about his debut novel, and how themes of queerness, race, class, and grief find expression through New York’s nightlife. The discussion centered on the ways in which fiction engages with intimate storytelling and social critique. In another notable session, Marcus du Sautoy, Blueprints: How Mathematics Shapes Creativity, explained how mathematical structures exist beyond the physical universe, in conversation with Sanjoy K Roy, he demonstrated how symmetry, fractals, and prime numbers resonate across art, music, and literature, while noting how creativity itself often leads mathematicians toward fresh insights. Continuing the festival’s spirit, Ideas of Eve: Evolutionary Feminism brought together Cat Bohannon, alongside academic and novelist Sonora Jha, in conversation with Patricia Limerick, examine the politics of gender in literature and evolution, exploring how women’s voices and bodies have continually reshaped cultural narratives.
Over two enriching days, JLF Colorado 2025 reaffirmed its reputation as a festival of ideas — sparking conversations that bridged disciplines and perspectives, and celebrating the power of literature to question, reimagine, and inspire.
