Located in the port city of Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu, Green Print is a commercial print service and solution corner boasting a production setup with a strong machine portfolio among which Canon digital presses play pivotal roles in printing varieties of finished print products. The company upgraded its machine portfolio recently with a brand new Canon imagePRESS V1000 from Canon India.

On they chose the new iPR V1000, P Rikanth, proprietor of Green Print, said, “It’s been quite some time since we started running Canon digital presses as key machines in our facility. This latest one, the iPRV1000 is the third Canon press in the facility. To be honest, we have totally been smitten by the Canon presses because of their outstanding features, capabilities and operator friendliness.”

“The installed iPR V1000 is solely for printing PVC stickers, a job perfectly done with its advanced digital color production system. The end result is amazing. We have a vast client base, of which a host of them are prominent sea food manufacturing companies. These companies deal with end customers who are not just locals but based outside Tamil Nadu or even in the offshore markets. So, they engage in exports business too.”

“It’s not just a mundane task of printing PVC stickers. They want the products to look impressive. That’s why they devote time on impressive packaging and labelling. They ask us to print their PVC stickers uniquely. We print them on our new iPR V1000 and finished products come out unique.”

Upgraded with latest features, the iPR V1000 is capable to operate at a print speed of 100 A4 pages per minute (ppm), delivering graphic prints in a resolution of 2400x2400dpi. It supports varied media ranging from 52gsm up to 400gsm. “This Canon press seamlessly prints on all types of media – thin, recycled, coated, embossed, bond, transparent, label, pre-punched, envelope, synthetic, magnetic and many more. This is why this press is the right machine to churn the stickers for our quality-conscious sea food clients,” Rikanth says.

Established in 2016, Green Print is currently operated by a team of seven skilled staff members. Along with PVC stickers, which they exclusively produce on the new iPR V1000, they also cater other end-products like cards of all kinds including customised invitation cards on textured media and metallic boards, ID cards, brochures, catalogues, fliers, etc. using two other Canon digital colour production presses, viz. iPR C910 and iPR C600 which were already running productively in their production setup. They engage in packaging too.

Rikanth says, “Our story with Canon does not end here. We look forward to installing more new models as per our requirement soon.”

  1. It’s interesting to see Green Print investing in the Canon imagePRESS V1000 — it shows how mid-volume digital presses are becoming a smart choice for balancing productivity with sustainability. I’d be curious to know if this upgrade has also helped them reduce turnaround times for shorter runs, since that’s such a big driver for many commercial print providers today.
