The third edition of the T Prasad Memorial Print Competition for students at the Northern Regional Institute of Printing Technology (NRIPT) concluded with Aparna Mishra, a second-year student, being crowned as the ‘Best Print Student of the Year 2024.’ The competition, dedicated to the memory of T Prasad, is a tribute to his contribution to the modernization of print education in India.
The reach of T Prasad, who guided the institute as principal from 1982 to 1993, extended beyond NRIPT, as he imparted his wisdom to aspiring minds at Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College (now MNIT), Allahabad.
The Offset Printers’ Association (OPA), which organizes this event every year, aims to inspire students to stay at the cutting edge of technological advancement and innovation in printing. This year’s competition reached its conclusion during the International Conference on Sustainable Printing and Packaging, held in Ayodhya, supported by the Ministry of MSME, government of India.
The Gold Medal and a prize of Rs. 25,000/- were awarded to Aparna Mishra by Sanjay Srivastava, vice chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari (Bihar). In his deeply inspiring address, Srivastava praised the efforts of the Offset Printers’ Association and lauded Aparna for her achievement. “It is heartening to witness students like Aparna, whose dedication reflects their profound respect and love for their mentors. The bonds they forge during these pivotal years will last a lifetime, and T Prasad’s legacy will continue to burn brightly through them,” he said.
Parveen Aggarwal, president of OPA, conveyed his gratitude for the support of industry leaders and educators. “At OPA, we are not just shaping today’s students; we are sowing the seeds for the future of India’s printing and packaging industry. This competition, held in the name of the great T Prasad, reminds us that our progress depends on empowering young minds with knowledge, innovation, and the relentless drive to carry forward the torch of excellence.”
