The World Editors Forum Asia Chapter, Wan-Ifra’s regional network for editors, is seeking bright minds in the news media industry for the fourth edition of its leadership development program, the Temasek Foundation Young Media Leaders Fellowship (YMLF).
Applications are open for the Temasek Foundation Young Media Leaders Fellowship for 2024. The fourth iteration of the highly successful leadership development program will take place in October and November, using a mix of online and face-to-face training and events.
It is open to journalists/editors under the age of 35 from the Asia Pacific region. They should have at least five years’ experience in the newsroom and be ready to grow their leadership skills or expand current horizons.
The 2024 program kicks off with a four-day online leadership workshop from 7-10 October, followed by in-person training in Singapore from 4-7 November 2024. A combined post-program webinar session with Fellows from previous years will be held in 2025.
Helmed by respected coach Jeremy Clifford, himself a former editor in chief, the program will deliver a comprehensive learning experience through:
Workshops: Engage in online and in-person sessions focused on developing media skills, facilitating debate, and tackling current professional challenges through collaborative problem-solving.
Forum: Participate in discussions and knowledge sharing with media veterans, industry experts, and fellows.
Industry Event: Attend a key regional media summit to gain insights into industry challenges and solutions, and seize co-learning and networking opportunities.
There is no course fee for the program but successful applicants must be able to commit to the entire duration. Those residing outside Singapore will have their travel expenses (air ticket and hotel) to Singapore covered.
The Young Media Leadership Fellowship program was launched in 2020, in partnership with Temasek Foundation, in response to a critical need identified by members of the World Editors Forum Asia Chapter to cultivate the next generation of media leaders.
