Hyderabad-based Macromedia Digital Imaging, a leading specialist in wide format digital printing, recently added an EFI FabriVU 340i+ soft signage printer to its portfolio of more than 40 machines for various printing solutions. This is Macromedia’s second acquisition of the same machine from Arrow Digital.

Naresh Kumar Dasari, director of Macromedia, said, “We have been looking to expand our offerings, particularly in soft signage printing. The EFI FabriVU 340i+ seemed like the perfect fit for us. This printer is fit for diverse applications with high precision and vibrancy. Adding this dye sublimation digital printer will help us meet the demands of our corporate customers and brands with impressive backlit, frontlit, blackback, and flag. It has the capability of handling both direct transfer and paper sublimation processes. An inline fixation unit negates the need for heat transfer paper and a separate heat press – saving time, money, and floor space.”

The EFI FabriVU 340i+ is a dye sublimation printer mainly for home furnishing and soft signage. With a maximum printable width of 133 inches (320 cm), the soft signage printer boasts a speed of 5,172 square feet per hour with an inbuilt curing system. It has eight high-performance printheads in a CMYK x 2 printhead array configuration. Auto printhead cleaning and capping stations ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime. The resolution of up to 2400 dpi and three-level grayscale printing results in four-color prints, thereby providing a wide color gamut, deep color saturation, and rich blacks, culminating in high-quality, backlit fabric displays.

In terms of sustainability, the signage printer with medium-viscosity EFI inks contains higher concentrations of ink (dye). The usage of ink is reduced by up to 30% compared to other competitive units. The EFI’s platen technology ensures consistent heat distribution and an ink recovery system that saves more than 95% of inks lost during purging. Waste is minimized, and profits are maximized.

With the new addition, Macromedia aims to not only meet but exceed customer expectations, delivering unparalleled quality and efficiency with every project.
