The Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems (Kongsberg PCS) team is showcasing its flexible X20 cutting system at Pamex Mumbai, from 6-9 February.  Visitors to stand #B95, Hall 1 of the Bombay Exhibition Center in Goregaon will discover first-hand how the versatility, power and performance of Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems combine to transform short-run production and sample making, the company said.

“In a world where market dynamics and buying patterns are continually changing, it is important to invest in equipment that offers the flexibility to grow in line with your business needs,” said Rafiq Shaikh, sales and service leader for Kongsberg PCS. “We are seeing a move towards short runs in direct response to a number of recent trends, such as the steep rise in online sales and new entrepreneurial startups needing shorter supplies of boxes for their product.

“Similarly, the increase in popularity of the franchise model encourages the market to think in terms of the shorter run, where boxes can be produced and delivered only as sales demand,” said Rafiq. “The increasing number of product variants, for example with new or limited edition flavors, also means that in some cases single run length volumes have reduced from ten thousand to just a thousand or fewer. The Kongsberg X series offers the desired versatility to meet these current and upcoming demands, safeguarding a business’s investment and preparing it for the future.

“The X20 evolves with the needs of a company and offers the necessary flexibility for cutting a wide range of materials,” he said. “We look forward to demonstrating to Pamex visitors the ease and accuracy with which the Kongsberg X20 can handle jobs on everything from paper board, corrugated and foam board through to PET film and flexo plates.”

Rafiq said the display and demos would highlight the versatility of the Kongsberg X20, cutting more materials with fewer – but specialist – tools, which helps reduce stop time for greater efficiency and productivity, and also reduce wastage. “These tools include the Multi-Purpose High-Frequency Knife (MPHF), a reciprocating knife tool that, with its powerful motor, enables exceptional cutting of heavily recycled board at efficient speed, something which is becoming increasingly important to today’s customers,” said Rafiq.

The team will also showcase the Psaligraphy Knife Tool, specially developed for fine details in thin materials like paper and folding carton, and the Rigid Material Knife Tool – a static knife tool suitable for a wide range of materials at high speed. The RM tool can be used for everything from folding carton to bubble boards widely used in packaging and display production.

From 6 to 9 February 2024, the Pamex event will attract visitors from all across India and neighboring countries, providing a global platform to showcase new innovations and present groundbreaking technologies.
