Design o Xperts, a Delhi-based monocarton packaging provider, installed a pasting machine from DGM India, a provider of packaging equipment. Originally operating from Patparganj industrial estate in east Delhi, the firm has shifted its premises to a 25,000-square-foot plant in nearby Sahibabad in Ghaziabad, adding corrugated packaging to its portfolio. It now plans to venture into commercial printing from the Patparganj plant.

Design o Xperts houses press lines too, ”For printing, we are veteran users of Heidelberg, having a 5-color and 6-color coater available at our plant in addition to an Enthrone 2030 press from Komori. We have been working in monocartons for nearly 15 years and noticed that diversification has become a common trend as bulk orders for packaging and commercial printing came in parallel. This led us to diversify our processes as well. For commercial printing, we will be printing all sorts of catalogs, brochures, and journals. Technology has been an enabler — spot UV, screen printing, and metalizing are the processes we will be including for commercial printing,” said Anubhav Sahni, a first-generation proprietor, started the business in 2009.

He adds “At that time we started with monocartons. We caught the right wind with pharma packaging and now we provide for the pharma, food, electrical, and apparel sectors. We have shifted the entire monocarton packaging to our new plant in Sahibabad and will use our Patparganj plant solely for commercial printing. The plant in Sahibabad, built over 25,000 square feet of land, is enabling us to enhance our production. We will start with G and F flute corrugated packaging and install a pasting machine from DGM. Additionally, we have a folder gluer from DGM and two die cutters from Bobst.”

The company produces 6-7 lakh lock-bottom monocartons per day for the majority of its clientele based in north India. Sahni hopes the reliance on technology bears good fruit to help the company grow further. He aims to expand the company’s business into the label sector by 2024.
