Sivakasi-based commercial printer The Safire Industries has installed a Ricoh Pro 8310S black & white press for its pre-production proofs work. Known as ‘Safire’ in short, it is a reputed commercial printer in Tamil Nadu engaging in diverse printing tasks, including book printing.

The new monochrome production press has been supplied and installed by Monotech Systems, a manufacturer and provider of printing and packaging machines.

Established by the late N Ayyanathay, Safire was established in the year 1975. The company’s production facility is equipped with a string of pre-press, press and post-press machines such as Mitsubishi Diamond 4 & 5-color presses, Heidelberg SM 4-color presses, a Planeta Super Variant 4-colour offset press, a Komori System 35 web offset press, a Numac CtCP, a Konica Minolta AccurioPress C2070, and others.

Safire prints fancy wedding cards, corporate brochures, business cards, labels, stickers, and books of different types. “Book printing is one of our main fortes. For pre-production proof, we needed a black & white production press. The Ricoh Pro 8310S monochrome press from Monotech met our requirement,” says Balakrishnan Ravisankar, Pre-Press manager, The Safire Industries.

The Pro 8310S delivers 111 ppm (pages per minute) on a diverse range of stock. The press is ideal for high-volume production of Safire which works for around 3000 customers.

Ravisankar says they are satisfied with the overall productivity prowess and crisp print outputs of the press from Monotech Systems, which has been a supplier for Safire since 2006.

“To date, we have purchased eight machines from Monotech Systems, which include a CtCP machine and a color digital production press, and we look forward to buying more from them.”
