At Hunkeler Innovationdays HP demonstrated its HP Page Wide Press T240HD capable of running at 150 meters a minute in a configuration allowing roll-to-roll or roll-to-stack production. A 22- inch reel was shown producing the trade show newspaper to a rewind. Nearline newspaper finishing was performed on the flexible newspaper finishing line at the Hunkeler stand. Another transaction application was printed and similarly roll-fed to the Pitney Bowes inserting system. Using the DP8-II perforator dynamic vertical and horizontal perforation was done before passing the web to the CS6-II cutting module for slitting and cross-cutting.
HP launches entry-level T235
HP also announced the T235 PageWide Inkjet web press at Hunkeler 2017. It’s 25% slower than the T240 but can be upgraded to the same spec. Essentially it’s the same print engine and just needs additional RIP power and drying capability.
The new entry-level webfed press provides the most economical entry point to the T200 HD series color inkjet presses. “With the introduction of the HP PageWide T235 HD, it’s easier for more PSPs to make the analog to digital transformation,” said Eric Wiesner, general manager, HP PageWide industrial division, HP Inc. “As the HP PageWide Web Press platform reaches a milestone of 210 billion customer-printed pages, it further reinforces the market’s adoption of HP thermal inkjet technology.”
In addition, HP also demonstrated its Indigo 12000 Digital Press at HID as well as the ability to create book blocks from rolls printed on the new oversized B1 duplex HP Indigo 50000 Digital Press at its stand at Hunkeler 2017.
