At the Media Expo 2017 in Mumbai in February, HP showcased its PageWide XL 5000 Multi-function printer and its HP Designjet Z5600 production printer, along with a cluster of applications. “We are showing a mix-up solution for the signage and graphics industry such as HP DesignJet T830, T2530 and D5800 – a top selling model for print service providers. The value proposition for customers is the use of color at the cost of black and white printing with the Pagewide XL 5000. Usually, a color print out is 2.5 times more expensive than black and white prints and this is the game changer. It should empower print service providers to enter multiple application segments.” says, Devang Karia, country manager, Large format design, PPS-GSB at HP India.

In the market for over a year, the Page Wide 5000 XL has over 50 installations across India with many applications suitable for official uses of blueprints and maps. The HP DesignJet market share has apparently grown from 55 % to near 74% in the CAD drawings and high-quality photo segment in India while in the Asia Pacific region (APG), the company’s share in this segment is close to 50 %. “At the show, we got the opportunity to connect with customers and show them how we can transform their businesses. For instance, many government organizations print a large quantity of technical drawings for land records; the Survey of India uses HP devices to digitize the content and print its maps. Even the military uses our devices and recently we announced a unique solution for defense establishments, a T830 press with armor case and showed a video of it at our stand,” he adds.

Brand owners nowadays expect their PSPs to look for the different media as well as innovative ways to make the brand stand out. And they want everything very fast, which is why we are showcasing a Latex solution at Media Expo.

HP showcased its wide portfolio of HP Latex printers for sign and display at the Media Expo. The entire HP Latex 300 printer series including the HP Latex 315, HP Latex 335 and the new HP Latex 570 printers were showcased at the show. Numerous applications printed on a variety of media including wall art, vehicle wraps, backlit graphics, point-of-sale Demos of Pagewide, Designjet and Latex applications HP at Media Expo 2017 in Mumbai displays, roll-up banners and other indoor and retail applications in bright colors were shown.

Printing companies have long used traditional eco-solvent ink devices for outdoor print, with longer turnaround times and sometimes limited application versatility. With its third generation water-based HP Latex inks, the Latex series offers copy shops and PSPs a compelling alternative to eco-solvent inks with its economic value proposition. Outdoor and indoor signage can be printed with improved strength and image quality. At the stand, HP showcased its next generation HP Wall Art Suite — an easy and innovative webto-print solution designed to help small-to-medium-sized printers in the decoration space.

The new HP Latex 315 and 335 printers shown at the stand deliver high quality outdoor prints at 1200 dpi with 54” and 64” widths. The Latex series prints on a variety of substrates from self-adhesive vinyl and backlit, to wall coverings and textiles.

“We have experienced consistent growth with the Latex series in the last couple of years. Brand owners nowadays expect their PSPs to look for the different media as well as innovative ways to make the brand stand out. And they want everything very fast, which is why we are showcasing a Latex solution at Media Expo.” says, Imtiaz Batkoo, country business manager, sign and display, HP India.
