Mumbai-based Hi-Tech Systems has a broad range of digital and postpress solutions in its portfolio. At the Media Expo in Mumbai, the company launched Azon Tex Pro – Direct to Garment (DTG) press, which garnered much curiosity among the visitors to the show. Speaking to us, Parag Shah, director, said, “We are focusing on digital finishing, and the products displayed offer value enhancements for the print companies to build on their business.”
We met Himanshu Desai, owner of Venus Infotech, who had on display the directly printed T-shirt samples. He said, “With the Azon Tex Pro, direct printing on cotton garments becomes a breeze for print service providers (PSPs). There is no longer the need to have thousands of garment pieces per run to make the printing process profitable. The digital press offers short and medium runs as well as personalized and variable data printing.”
Azon runs on digital printing mode that can be used as a substitute for screen printing and transfer printing. It obtains color printing without plate making or repeated color register, while is highly waterproof and wear resistant. With Azon DTG, it is possible to print vibrant full-color prints on light and dark colored fabrics as it offers excellent adhesion of ink. The press contains four CMYK and four white color cartridges to dispense waterbased inks through the print head. The water-based white ink is specially developed for printing on dark garments by creating a solid surface on the printing area before applying the CMYK inks. This white layer is digitally applied directly onto the desired location on the garment and is very easy to use.
In addition to the Azon DTG, the company also showcased Azon Razor Hale, the latest model from its UV product line. The press can print on a broad range of substrates by offering colorful prints on any material including stone, glass, wood, plastic and canvas regardless for indoor or outdoor use. A fully-featured Azon RIP software provides various features, tools and add-ons to create the embossing of up to 2 mm and Braille script on different substrates.
According to Shah, tier-II and -III cities have been an attractive destination for their business and so far they have installed over 1900 machines for more than 900 clients. In their recent participation at PrintPack 2017, they successfully managed to sell over 50 machines.
