The aftermath of the recent demonetization move by the Modi government led OnPrintShop, a printing consulting firm, to research what is happening with the printing industry, especially the SME segment. They surveyed nearly 100 big and small printers to understand the impact demonetization has had on their business and were surprised to find that 7 out of 10 printers claimed it has affected their business significantly.
Some further probing helped the OnPrintshop team to find why so many printers lost money—and it is not only demonetization that came up as the answer. It was found that this problem could have been avoided with the right crisis management strategy. Most of the printers surveyed said it would take them around three to six months to return to normalcy
As per OnPrintShop estimates, approximately 2.5 lakh units operate traditionally and there is an immense opportunity for printers to grow post demonetization. They presented a webinar on 21 December 2016 to show the right direction to printers and provide insights on dealing with demonetization. They claim to have some credible statistics and case studies, which they believe will motivate printers to make the right moves.
“We believe demonetization is a big opportunity for printers who know how to capitalize the situation properly. This webinar is organized for small to large printers to understand the complex and challenging demonetization situation. We’re here to help printers to make sense out of chaos and accelerate their business quickly,” says Naresh Bordia, vice president business development, OnPrintShop, as well as the main speaker and conductor of the webinar.
