Times of India has been relying on manroland as its partner for print technology and service for the last two decades.

The Times of India printing company has been relying on manroland web systems as its partner for print technology and service for the last two decades. Now the capacities of two printing centres are to be expanded simultaneously, in order to further increase the success of the leading English Language broadsheet daily newspaper in India, through higher productivity.

India’s most successful daily newspaper has been printing with manroland web systems Cromoman 4 x 1 presses since 2011. The circulation of the Times of India is more than twice as high as its closest competitor’s with 3.4 million newspapers every day and can be compared with the circulation figures of leading regional daily newspapers in India. This calls for efficiency and creativity, two characteristics of the Cromoman 4 x 1. The high-end systems are the fastest in their class and well automated. Furthermore, they are perfectly suitable for contract printing and at the same time the Cromoman 4 x 1 prints high quality newspapers and magazines. Considering the constantly increasing circulation figures and the booming market, Times of India made the decision to upgrade its newspaper printing presses. The Cromoman 4 x 1 in Kolkata will be upgraded with two towers and two reel splicers. The press in Airoli will soon print on one tower and with an additional reel splicer.
