Guangxi Daily has invested in an mRC-3D system for color register control as part of an expansion on a tower for a Goss Magnum 65 press. The Chinese media group, which was established in 1949, publishes more than 10 newspaper titles and also prints for commercial customers. In 2007, Guangxi Daily bought its first-ever automation system from QIPC for its manroland presses. “They are extremely happy with the performance and stability of our system,” says Paul Yu, managing director of QIPC China. Likewise, the Goss Magnum 65 presses at the Guangxi Daily were fitted with QIPC systems. “Guangxi Daily is the largest publisher and printer in Guangxi province and a key client,” he specifies.

The longstanding partnership between the two companies has now resulted in a new venture. The Nanning-based company has already familiarized itself with the mRC-3D system purchased by the Guangxi Daily. “It has also been installed on their other Goss presses,” explains Yu. “They are not only pleased with how the system performs, but also with the additional service we provide.”

In total, two mRC-3D cameras will be installed as part of the expansion programme. “It means an improved end-product and reduced waste. What’s more, their press will become more stable and they will, of course, be able to fall back on our excellent levels of service,” quips Yu. The cameras will be fitted with the Ink Mist Shield (IMS) for cleaning the lenses.

The new order placed by Guangxi Daily means that QIPC will enjoy an even larger footprint in China. The Netherlands-based company has been active in China since 2004, and in the 12 intervening years it has acquired a 90% market share in the highspeed printing market. “We enjoy an excellent relationship with all the major manufacturers, such as KBA, manroland, Goss, Seiken and Beiren,” explains Yu. “We acquired the Guangxi Daily order via Goss. It is yet another order that consolidates our position in the Chinese market.”
