Managed by first generation entrepreneur Nitin Nor, Andheri-based Nor Enterprise has plans to move into more complex and niche printing jobs for select clients. Keeping this segment in mind, the print shop has installed a 5-color Ricoh Pro c7100x. The press was put into operation in April. “In fact, we had earlier thought of buying a 4-color press but then we decided to venture into high-end, value added jobs. Everyone has a 4- color press. This new press will help us in taking up high-end jobs with its fifth color option, which is white. We saw a live demonstration at a print shop in Borivali and were impressed with the performance,” says Nor.

The c7100x has new applications that support textured media, envelopes, cling film and transparent media. The machine has a print resolution of up to 1200 x 4800 dpi with print speed of 90 ppm. The paper size that the machine can take is of 13 x 27.5-inch. “The most appealing feature of the press is the fact that it can print on a variety of media. Since we are planning to take up jobs like printing designer greeting cards and visiting cards, this feature becomes very helpful. We are in talks with few designers who sell greeting cards online. We would be working with them. Also, we would be printing identity cards and those would be printed on a plastic sheet. Again, c7100’s versatility comes in handy,” he adds. Nor will shortly begin doing trials for these high-end jobs. At the moment the c7100 is being used for regular commercial printing jobs.

In addition to the Ricoh Pro c7100x, Nor Enterprise has a Konica Minolta 6500 as well as wide format printers for flex. It also has eco solvent printers and an HP 5800 inkjet printer. Nor’s finishing department is well equipped with lamination machine, cutting machine, pinning machine, folding machine, lamination machine and other equipment.
