In the year 2015 Ricoh India refreshed its product line for the Indian market and this was evident by the gamut of presses on display at the company’s Pamex stand. The Ricoh stand was buzzing with activity and visitors throughout the four days of the event, with people thronging to know about the six presses being promoted. On display were the color presses, black and white presses and the wide format presses. Color production presses on display were Pro C9100, Pro C7100 and the 5-color Pro C7100SX. For the black and white segment Ricoh displayed Pro 8100 while for the wide format market there were MP 7100 and Pro L4160.

“The year 2015 started on a slow note but July onwards it has been very good for Ricoh and we expect to grow in high double digits for the full year. I expect this growth momentum to continue in 2016 as well and we again expect growth rates which would be in higher double digits,” said Sambit Mishra, COO, print production, Ricoh India, with confidence.

“However, 2016 may not see a lot of new products because in 2015 we refreshed our product line. We would want to consolidate the market with these new products.”

According to Mishra, shifting the Pamex venue to Mumbai was a refreshing change as Western India is a big market, especially for color print volumes as well as high-end niche printing. Mishra was more than happy with the response received at the show. “There were serious customers, both new as well as existing, visiting us. We have also managed to book many orders. For example, five units of a black and white press was bought by a Chennai-based printer,” said Mishra.

Moreover, a lot of interest was generated and orders booked for the Pro C9100 series which is meeting the demands of the high-speed market as well as the packaging segment. Many existing offset printers who are looking to have a digital set up to complement their existing business also visited the stand. “The trend of traditional offset printers contemplating having a digital set up alongside is fast catching up in India. With lot of jobs witnessing shrinking runs, we at Ricoh have used the Pamex platform to talk about the advantages of having a complementary digital set up,” stated Mishra.
