Epson India drew strong crowds during the four days of Pamex 2015. On display were three large format printers and one business multi-functional printer aimed at both printing, photo and packaging segments. The large format printer Surecolor SC-P9000 has been recently launched and has attracted good response. “The Surecolor SC-P9000 was launched a month ago in the Indian market and is aimed at proofing, photo and graphic artssegments,” said Harishankar, senior manager – sales IE, at Epson.

The 44-inch Surecolor P9000 printers are successors to the Epson Stylus Pro 900 Series. The printer incorporates Epson PrecisionCore TFP printhead, along with the Epson UltraChrome HDX 10-color pigmented ink set – which now includes an all-new optional violet color. The second large format printer on display was SC B7070.It isthe world’sfirst original ink tank large format printer that delivers fast, cost-effective and high quality printing, said Harishankar.

The third large format printer on show was aimed at proofing flexographic and gravure print jobs that require the white color. The Epson Stylus Pro WT7900 incorporates highresolution ink jet technology, including Epson UltraChrome HDR white ink. Targeting customers who need to print high quality packaging mock-upsin-house, the printer is capable of printing directly on both ink jet coated clear and metallic films, in roll or cut sheet, up to 24 inches wide. “This printer would be of great interest to players in the packaging and labels space as the water-based white ink is perfect for printing soft packaging proof,” said Harishankar.

Epson WorkForce Pro WF-R8591 is meant for the office segment with speeds of up to 34 ppm for both black and color prints with PrecisionCore printheads. The print resolution is of 600 x 600 dpi for standard prints and up to 4,800 x 1,200 dpi for prints with special media, with no warm-up time and a fast first page-out time of less than seven seconds. Talking about the response seen at Pamex, Harishankar said the profile of visitors was mixed including big and small printers. “We had a good four days here in Mumbai with good inquiries.”
