Organized by the German Book Office in New Delhi, the sixth Globalocal networking event is to take place at the Eros Hotel in Nehru Place in the southern part of the city. The Globalocal platform is a must participate event for publishers and service providers in India – a rich opportunity to trade and network with leading international publishers that the event attracts from around the world. Global publishers want to sell rights to Indian publishers for translating their authors and they are also interested to meet Indian publishers to see what they can carry back for publishing for their own markets. There is an added opportunity to sell services such as translation, typesetting and digitization and for Science, Technology and Mathematics (STM) as well as digital rights management and the conversion to eBooks.

In the foreground of the event are a mix of keynote, roundtable and training sessions. However, the real event is about rights, and matchmaking between publishers and rights and services sellers and buyers. In addition there is an Experts’ Table with a panel of industry experts to give advice and consultation. An opportunity to meet peers, new business partners, to present products and ideas, and interact with leading global publishing and allied industries professionals. Best of all, it is an opportunity to buy and sell.

As at last year’s event, Globalocal 2015 is expected to focus on increasing one-on-one networking opportunities. Globalocal 2015 will also present the Exclusive India Trip for international participants with a view to increasing planned interactions between Indian publishers, distributors, retailers, digital service providers and their international publishing counterparts. For this, the GBO has invited publishers from across the globe, interested in the Indian publishing industry from a business perspective, to visit India from 8 to 14 February 2015 for a cross-country trip from Chennai to Delhi.
