Indian Printing, Packaging and Allied Machinery Manufacturers Association (IPAMA) has joined hands with Vibes Academy, Chennai to organize a seminar titled ‘Web Printing – Together We Grow!’ involving printers, manufacturers and suppliers during the 12th edition of Printpack India 2015 exhibition. Vibes Academy, a leading training organization based in Chennai, functions as a training and services school for the publishing and printing industry. Additionally there will be a symposium or discussion with the theme “Made in India and Make in India.”

The day-long seminar to be held on 13 February 2014 is aimed at bringing all important entities of the web printing industry at a common platform and initiate the much-awaited discussion based on growth and the need for an unending alliance between concerned parties for self-reliance. Printpack India is a platform where you decide about your future and expansion plan and also choose the value-added machines for upgrading your existing units,” says KS Khurana, IPAMA president.

On 17 December 2014, IPAMA and Vibes organized an interactive session, attended by print and packaging printers and converters, where a detailed insight to the seminar and symposium to be held during Printpack 2015 was shared. The highlight of the symposium is ‘Make in India and Made in India.’

The advantages of using Indian machines in web printing along with the accessories for web offset printing will be discussed in the symposium. The panelists who will take part in the symposium are Lal Jayawardene, director, Wijeya Publications, Sri Lanka; Vinod Kumar, CEO, Manipal Media Networks; KR Chandrahas, executive director – Technical Pressline India; and Sunil Mehta, GM technical, Mitsubishi Electric India. The symposium will be moderated by K Nandakumar, founder – Vibes Academy and former VP technical of The New Indian Express Group, Chennai, India.

In the seminar on web printing V Siva Raja, AVP – supply chain and operations – Hindustan Times; Sanat Hazra, technical director – Times of India; Pradeep A Unny, AVP – production and commercial, Amar Ujala Publications; and Vijaya Kumar Pandya, CEO, QI Press Controls India will discuss some pressing issues and trends of the newspaper industry.
