For Krishna K Kashyap, owner of Yugal Printers in east Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar, the decision to bring digital printing in-house was driven by the need for greater control over quality and turnaround. With a predominantly corporate customer base, consistency has become as important as speed. Keeing these factors in mind. Yugal Printers installed a Canon imagePRESS V770 in June 2026.
Kashyap has been associated with digital printing since 2011-12. Over the years, he built Yugal Printers’ corporate customer base while outsourcing part of its production. As the business grew, the limitations of relying on outside production became increasingly apparent.
“When we were working outside, if someone changed the paper or something changed in the machine, our colors changed,” says Kashyap.
For corporate customers, such variation can be difficult. A particular brand color may need to be reproduced consistently across different jobs and at different times. Kashyap wanted greater control over the production process, rather than depending on variables outside his own operation.
Yugal Printers produces catalogs, posters and visiting cards, with the corporate segment accounting for a significant part of its business. The V770’s ability to handle a wide range of media suits this mix of work, he says.
The press supports substrates from 52 gsm to 350 gsm, including coated and uncoated, textured and synthetic media. It can deliver speeds of up to 81 pages per minute on plain and thick media, while coated media can be produced at up to 77 ppm.
The press includes features to maintain feeding stability, including an air-assisted stack bypass system that can handle up to 250 sheets of coated media. Image-quality enhancements include updated color profiles for red and blue reproduction, a 200-line screen option for smoother gradations and reduced moiré, and a scratch-resistant mode for labels and synthetic substrates.
“When a customer comes here, he wants us to print quickly,” he says. Previously, outsourced production could mean waiting for a job to be completed and repeatedly updating customers about delivery times.
With production now available in-house, Yugal Printers can take on urgent work with greater flexibility, including during late hours.
The V770’s compact footprint is another practical advantage for Yugal Printers, particularly in a production environment where space needs to be used efficiently. Kashyap highlights the front tray arrangement, which keeps the paper handling area compact while making loading and operation convenient.
The press incorporates Canon’s PRISMAsync LITE workflow, bringing functions such as production management, scheduling, and color control into the press environment. Kashyap particularly points to the user interface and its ability to preview jobs and make corrections before production.
“You can preview the content. Correction is also easy,” he says.
The workflow allows operators to make color adjustments directly, giving them greater control when an output needs to be made lighter, darker, or otherwise corrected.
For Yugal Printers, the V770 is less about choosing digital over other printing technologies and more about strengthening its ability to serve customers on its own terms — with greater control over quality, more flexibility in production, and quicker response when deadlines are tight.
As demand grows, Kashyap expects to add finishing capabilities and eventually expand production capacity. For now, his priority is to deliver consistent quality while giving customers the turnaround and reliability they expect.
